Nairobi National Park

The Nairobi National Park (117 sq kms) is the only wildlife park worldwide, within a city. All the Big Five except the elephant can be found on this sprawled plain of the African Savanna. Here you can find lions, giraffes, black rhinoceros, white rhinoceros, zebras, and impalas. The park also hosts over 400 species of birds and various acacia trees, including the rare Whistling Thorn Acacia.

Nairobi City Tour (Half Day)

Purple Tea Farm – Gatura Gardens

While at the farm, guests are taught how to pick tea, after which they pick some purple tea. This tea will then be taken back to the farm where guests will be taught how to make their very own specialty orthodox tea (this includes learning to roast it, roll it by hand, dry it then pack it for themselves to take home). After guests make their very own hand-picked and rolled purple tea, they head to the waterfall trek through a beautiful bamboo forest finishing o with a refreshing dip at the waterfall by the farm.

Browns Food

Browns Cheese tasting is a unique experience for foodies and lovers of artisan and organic cheeses. Start the day with a tour of the organic farm as you are welcomed with drinks and canapes. As the day progresses the guests are taken through a cheesemaking demonstration by the host. This is followed by a tour of the production facility, with the highlight being a visit to one of the cheese caves, and seeing thousands of cheese maturing using traditional methods. After the tour, sit down for a cheese tasting and a three-course meal, and explore the garden and animals, and even milk a cow before dessert.

Hells Gate National Park

Hell’s Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. It received the name “Hell’s Gate” by explorers Fisher and Thomson in 1883. The 1994 film, The Lion King, was heavily modeled after the park. The 2003 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life was also shot on location in this park.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru was first gazetted as a bird sanctuary in 1960 and upgraded to National Park status in 1968. It is a very shallow, strongly alkaline lake (62 km2 in extent). Situated 160 km northwest of Nairobi, the trip takes visitors into the floor of the Great Rift Valley and further past Lake Naivasha, and into Lake Nakuru. Apart from the flamingos and other birds (over 450 species) which the park is well known for, big game animals are also found such as lions, zebras, impalas, baboons, and giraffes. A breakaway lake called Oloiden situated west of the main lake is a good place to see flamingos. Return to the hotel late in the evening.

Amboseli National Park

Full Day Branded as the “Kilimanjaro courtyard” Amboseli is 392 Km2. During the rainy season, Lake Amboseli which is part of the park is abundant with water-related birds e.g. sandpipers, avocets, and lapwings. It is the best place to view Mt. Kilimanjaro apart from the herd of elephants found in the many swamps in the pane. Other animals such as antelope, lions, and a variety of birds are also present. A 360-degree panoramic viewpoint is also a good place to visit.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Lake Naivasha & Hells Gate National Park

Here you will go for a 1-hour boat ride to Crescent Island. This is a freshwater lake in Kenya, lying northwest of Nairobi. It is a part of the Great Rift Valley. The lake is home to a variety of wildlife and over 400 different species of birds. There is also a sizable population of hippos in the lake. After the boat ride you will be taken to Hells Gate National Park. This is situated in the environs of the lake. The park derives its name from the endless gorge. The gorge baffles explorers and it is said to resemble “hell” hence the name “Hells Gate”. The attractive sites are unlimited, for example, the Fischer’s Tower which stands strategically in the middle of the park.

Mt Longonot

Mount Longonot, a dormant stratovolcano in the Great Rift Valley, stands at about 2,776 meters above sea level. The hike up its steep, dusty trails is a challenging yet rewarding experience. Along the way, hikers encounter breathtaking views of the valley and the surrounding landscape. The real highlight is reaching the summit, where a massive crater, covered in lush greenery, awaits.
